Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
— 2 Corinthians 5:17

A “New Beginning” in Christ

If you have sincerely invited Jesus into your heart and into your life, your relationship with the Almighty, Creator of the universe, has been restored! You are now called a Christian (Acts 11:26). You now have a New Beginning in life with Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17).

When you honestly commit your life to Christ, you have access to a loving God. He enables you to face life’s problems so that you can overcome them with His aid and the help of His people. You can live a victorious life in Jesus’ Name! In fact, the following statements now apply to you today:

CHRIST HAS FORGIVEN YOUR SINS

Christ died for our sins… He was buried…and rose again the third day. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore … Be ye steadfast, immoveable. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 57-58)

YOU HAVE BECOME A CHILD OF GOD

Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God. (1 John 3:1)

…and because you are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts crying: Abba! Father! (Galatians 4:6)

THE HOLY SPIRIT DWELLS IN YOU

What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20)

THE HOLY SPIRIT ENABLES YOU…

TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh: but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. (Romans 8:5)

TO RESIST TEMPTATION

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

And the Lord said unto me: “My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL

For our Gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance. (1 Thessalonians 1:5)

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and great grace was among them all. (Acts 4:33)

YOU MUST FIGHT A MIGHTY ADVERSARY

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:8, 9)

READING THE BIBLE

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17)

Thy Word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against Thee. (Psalm 119:11)

PRAYING

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. (Colossians 4:2)

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6:6)

FELLOWSHIPPING WITH OTHER CHRISTIANS

And they continued steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (Acts 2:42)

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works; not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

DEPENDING ON CHRIST AND NOT ON YOURSELF

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

God said ”…I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” (Hebrews 13:5-6)

SPREADING THE GOOD NEWS WHEREVER YOU GO

And daily in the temple and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. (Acts: 5:42)

The apostle Paul wrote ”Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles, the unsearchable riches of Christ.” (Ephesians 3:8)

FROM NOW ON YOU LIVE WAITING FOR THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly, in this present world. Looking for that blessed hope; and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity; and purify unto Himself a peculiar people zealous of good works. (Titus 2:11-14)
